Each year our state and federal prisons release more than 700,000 prisoners back into our neighborhoods. Many actually have good intentions to "make it." But few have received any preparation or support. So it's not surprising that more than two-thirds return to prison within three years.
We dare to believe that this isn't the way it has to be.
The InnerChange Freedom Initiative®—a values-based reentry program developed by and affiliated with Prison Fellowship—is proving that prisoners can get out and stay out. For IFI graduates, only 8 percent return to custody after two years (based on a study of our Texas program). We believe that IFI's success lies in its commitment to the teachings of Jesus Christ—the only true crime stopper.
