After being paroled from the Wrightsville-Hawkins unit in December of 2009 Nisha Ridgel couldn’t wait to sit down and eat some “real food”. Eating prison food for the last 5 years made her hungry for a steak. The day she was released Nisha went to lunch with IFI Women’s Assistant Program Manager Patricia Shade and counselor Tena Hauk.

 Growing up in the streets of Little Rock during the '90s was a dangerous time. Gang warfare meant being rough and tough and not showing any sign of weakness. Eventually this lifestyle led Anthony Bens to prison. Keeping up the tough exterior was a way to survive.

I thank God for sending me to IFI. Scott McLean and all the other counselors have helped me more than they can imagine. Now I know that I am a changed person and I can go out and witness to others about what God has done for me.
